Nearby attractions include the virgin forest of Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, the scenic mile high Cherohala Skyway, the challenge of the world famous touring road known as Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap with 318 curves in 11 miles, Lake Santeetlah with seventy six miles of mostly natural forested shoreline, the Appalachian Trail, Fontana Lake and Fontana Dam, Cherokee Native American Village, Harrah's Casino and so much more.
